I love quizzes!

Well, Lord knows - there's a gracious plenty of them available on-line. And sooner or later you're going to hear about them, or get tagged, or tagged with a meme (by the way, I have NO idea if I phrased that properly. Confession time here. To those of you - and there were quite a few - who wrote asking me what the hell a meme was. Why ask ME? Just 'cause I used the term?! Hmmm - does that mean a person is supposed to know what every word that falls out of their mouth is supposed to mean?? ruh roh, and oh my. - Another topic for another day. Meme - I looked it up. On-line. Enough about that).
Back to quizzes. I'm a lover of these little quizzes. I think it may harken back to the same fascination and addiction I have to lists. Cannot live without my lists. Can't pack without a list. Can't shop without a list. Can't function at work efficiently without a list. You name it, I have a list for it. Putting my hand on that list is sometimes sorta like one of these quizzes.
The latest quiz I'm just over the moon about is "What Font are You?" I love fonts. There's just something fun and jazzy about all the fonts available. I took this quiz, and while I love the look of the font it tells me I am, I'm less enamored with WHO it tells me I am. harumph.

(i.e. - I am one very old fart. WHEN did this happen??).

Well, I got Times New Roman. How boring! It says something like "Some say you're a class act, others think you're just a snob." I thought I'd outgrown that! Yes, I did have trouble with the music question; I chose jazz standards, which I do listen to sometimes if they mean Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra, if it's Miles Davis and John Coltrane, not so much. So what was your actual font?
OK, I didn't know there was a font called Mrs. Eaves. In my student journalist days, I liked Nicolas Jensen, and if I'm doing a fancy font it's usually Palatino, which I think looks rather elegant.
I ended up being HELVETICA - "You're like an industry standard. Classic. Reliable. Okay, maybe a little bit boring. But you don't let the haters get you down - after all, you've still got plenty of friends who think you're the best." Yeesh! I don't guess I can deny that, but sometimes it's painful to hear. However, I did have problems with some of the questions. Like Auntie Knickers I picked Jazz standards, but again, not necessarily all jazz...And where is the option of "read the book I brought" for the 90 minute wait at the doctor's office? None of the movies they had were ones I'd want to watch with a date...Anyway...
Kaye, I also like lists, but I like them because I have that ADD problem. If something doesn't keep me on task, I'm wandering off...;)

No, wait. Helvetica.
Oddly enough, I recently read an article praising Helvetica. Not sure if it was an anniversary of the font's origins, or the designer's death. But Helvetica, in graphic design circles, is not considered boring. Boring is reserved for Arial, the reduced-royalty Helvetica wannabe.
So I, for one, am proud to be Helvetica!
Oh, by the way, in the quiz I had to lie on half the questions to give any answer at all... I don't think it was designed by J.D. Powers.
Hey there! Did not mean to be gone so long! sorry. This is the first week of classes at ASU, and its not going so great. Typical of first weeks, but there are always those little surprises that can get thrown in for extra fun.

LOL! Yep - Times New Roman does sound a bit boring, doesn't it!? But - "class act" sounds nice, and we KNOW you're not a snob.
I didn't think of Tony Bennett & Frank Sinatra for jazz, but now that you mention it, that makes perfect sense! I was just busy wondering why "Country" wasn't one of the music choices. OR, old classic rock?
Jen - You're right about those movie choices! Not one that was a "date night" choice for me either. And you're a classic! You AND Jonathan! and your friends think you're the best! (No surprise there!) And really now - you just don't get much better than that!!!
And Jonathan, as usual, you called it perfectly. The questions were not JD Powers material, were they? I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who fudged a bit on the answers for that very reason!!!! But still - it was fun.

I'm Helvetica too - and I also had to lie about several of the questions. What's the deal - nothing about reading, & writing for passtime, listening to folk music, taking fun road trips to Okemah, Ok. to the Woody Fest with my hippy friends, wasting work time playing games & sending plants to my wonderful virtual friends like Ms. Barley ...

Yikes! I am Times New Roman, too, and that's the the very font I use most of the time. I had trouble with the vacation and clothing questions. For the 90-minute wait, I said I'd reschedule, but Jen has i right--I'd probably be reading a book.
Hi Gail! You know - I put reschedule for appts. too. I need though, to just lighten up and pull out my book and enjoy those 90 minutes instead of getting all bent out of shape about them, huh?! Something to be learned there. And yes - the more we talk about some of these questions, the worse they get!! HA! But Shirley sent me a link for a pretty cool quiz. I'm probably going to post it next week after Earl's visit.
