I've often thought it would be fun to plan a mystery fiction event in Boone, NC
But, several things get in the way.
Number One being the fact that Boone is not the easiest place to get to.
There used to be service into a small airport just down the mountain in Hickory, but it's now closed. The other options are Greensboro, Charlotte or Asheville - all a couple hours away.
But, Hey - If President Obama can get here, what the heck - it might be something to think about after all! What do you think?!

I'm all for it -- but then I could drive there.
I could get there, too. So -- you, Vicki, and me? Sounds like a mystery event to me!
I would come! My husband goes regularly to Duke (Raleigh-Durham)and I'd come with him. I assume it's a few hours drive from there. And if I'd come all the way from Western Canada for your conference...
I'd love to come! And, you don't think there is a major airport in Cabot Cove, Maine, right?
Maybe he could pick all of us up, and give us a ride to Boone on Air Force One.
I'd come to Boone in a heartbeat. I have cousins within an hour or so and am looking for an excuse to visit them, too.
