Mary Anne Maier, friend, neighbor, and a long time Boone resident was seriously injured in a car accident on July 19, leaving her with severe injuries that required fourteen surgeries & a lengthy stay at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. It is uncertain when she will be able to return to her work as there will be a long recovery with extensive rehab.
A benefit concert will be held Thursday, November 3, at the High Country Press building, Depot Street, Boone, N.C.
There will be music, food & beverages, a silent auction and door prizes. Doors open at 6pm.
Performers include Melissa Reaves, Lisa Baldwin & Dave Haney, Klee Liles, Lost Faculties, Black Sheep Theatre & more!

After some initial confusion, I "think" we're back on track!
The invitation went out to a lot of people, but a lot of them did not receive the personal note which should have been attached.
I've sent a note of apology to everyone (I "think"), and rather than making it any worse by sending yet another note, we'll just see how it goes.
That old saying "no good deed goes unpunished" pops into mind here.
But, I have heard from a couple more writers this evening who are sending books. I'm sure they'll do great in the silent auction, and I know Mary Anne will be touched and grateful.

Kaye -- I went to the PO on Sat to mail all six of my books to you only to find that it closed at 11:30 instead of noon. (It was 11:35.) And then I went to the nearest Mailboxes, Etc. only to find it had gone out of business. I plan to go to the PO in the morning and hope that you'll get the books in time for your silent auction.
