And in this church is a fresco by renowned fresco artist Benjamin F. Long, who has done a number of frescoes in the state. There's a Benjamin F. Long Fresco Trail you can see at his webpage - http://www.benlongfrescotrail.org/avery.html
The fresco in Crossnore is titled "Suffer the Little Children."
It measures 16' x 9' and is on the chapel's back wall.
And as you turn to leave the church, these are the stained glass windows across the front wall.
'tis a lovely spot, indeed.

What a lovely part of the world you live in and near! I am quite envious. I have grown to appreciate the beauty of the Illinois prairies, but I miss the Ozark and Boston Mountains where I lived growing up. Your photos of the school and church and their surroundings are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Lovely. I so miss the little churches in England. Everything does tend to be bigger in Texas.
