- “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
— Aaron Siskind
Donald fell head over heels in love with Amsterdam.
He's such a fabulous photographer, and has an excellent eye.
He seeks out and finds detail that a lot of us just don't catch.
- “The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”
— Dorothea Lange
All these are his pictures.
Enjoy!
Navigating the hotel stairs was a wee bit tricky for a gal with a wonky hip. (yes, there was a elevator - the teeniest little bitty elevator you have ever seen. We giggled every time we got in it).
Because Donald and I are both lovers of old architecture and unique architectural detail, Amsterdam was a bit of heaven, but most especially for Donald.
He took some time off on his own to photograph the city and got some incredible shots with his eye for detail.
I have a feeling Amsterdam is not quite finished with us yet . . .
covered in sugar after having a scrumptious pastry.

More tomorrow . . .

Amazing! What a great trip you had.
Did you and Don ever figure out what the hooks were for? So interesting.
And I applaud you for looking up to see them in the first place. So many people never do that.
We did!
Furniture moving!!
Isn't that amazing?
Tell Donald I loved the green houseboat, the mini-cars, the cheeses, the doors...You're right. He has a wonderful eye for detail. Paris is a woman's city, while Amsterdam seems more masculine.
