Vacation - Day One. Charlotte to Paris

On our way!

Yay!

Charlotte Airport

Next stop - Paris!!!

We dropped our bags in our apartment and started exploring around our neighborhood -
The Île Saint-Louis

From Wikipedia: The Île Saint-Louis is one of two natural islands in the Seine river, in Paris, France.

It's connected to the rest of Paris by four bridges to both banks of the river and to the Île de la Cité by the Pont Saint-Louis.

This island was formerly used for the grazing of market cattle and stocking wood.

As we approached Hôtel de Ville we heard music.

(From Wikipedia: The Hôtel de Ville in Paris, France, is the building housing the city's local administration. Standing on the place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville in the 4th arrondissement. The south wing was originally constructed by François I beginning in 1535 until 1551.)

And we were party to a parade!

The annual Techno Band Parade.

(this video is from YouTube)

After the parade, the city got quiet again, as the City of Lights began it nightly soft lighting at dusk.

Ah, Paris!

More tomorrow . . .
