"If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.
If turnips were watches, I'd wear one by my side.
If "ifs" and "ands" were pots and pans,
There'd be no work for tinkers' hands."
IF I could wiggle my nose and be any place in the world I wanted to be today, Don Barley and I would be starting our day right here with breakfast
and ending our day right back here in the evening for a late night drink before turning in.
After saying goodnight to Paris.
Wishes aren't horses.
Wiggling my nose does not make magical things happen.
So.
Donald and I will have our morning coffee in our little nest in Meat Camp, NC
We will be thankful for one another and what we have
and I'll be reading a book written by a woman who stands by her convictions

And I'll be wishing you all well.

Michelle Obama is, to me, a rock star. A woman of strength, integrity, intelligence, humor and strong convictions. She is a very quotable woman. This from The Light We Carry:
“I believe that each of us carries a bit of inner brightness, something entirely unique and individual. A flame that’s worth protecting. When we are able to recognize our own light, we become empowered to use it. When we learn to foster what’s unique in the people around us, we become better able to build compassionate communities and make meaningful change.” ― Michelle Obama, The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times
